FLOWMOTION
2014, 19’L x 52’W x 2’D
Powder Coated Spun Aluminum, Stainless Steel
Art In Public Places Commission: Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX; Exercise Sports Sciences Building; Budget $57,000.
The Physical Education Dept. resists a mislaid notion that what P.E. teachers do in the gym is limited to “getting out the balls”. This project focuses on the science of exercise kinesiology by illustrating water flow displacement when a swimmer dives into a pool. A multi dimensional mural maximizes a limited budget, placing 164 highly engineered hemispheres permanently attached to the brick wall to endure this "tornado alley" location.
